Using the Inflatable
It is your responsibility to ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to avoid injury or damage to the inflatable, equipment, and users.
If the hirer is unsure about any of the following safety rules, Total Bounce should be contacted immediately for clarification.
Please ensure the following safety instructions are followed at all times:
- For safety, younger children must not be mixed with older children or adults. Adults must not use childrenās inflatables. Users should be of a similar height, age, and ability where possible.
- All shoes, badges, peaked hats, jewellery, large earrings, necklaces, and similar items must be removed before use. Spectacles should also be removed where possible. No hard objects should be left in the entrance or exit areas.
- No face paints, party poppers, coloured streamers, silly string, food, drink, or smoking are permitted on or near the inflatable. These can cause staining, damage, choking risks, or mess. Face paints are known to permanently stain inflatables. Full repair or cleaning costs will be charged where required.
- Climbing, hanging, or sitting on the walls is dangerous and must not be allowed. A responsible adult must supervise the inflatable at all times.
- The inflatable must not be overcrowded. User numbers should be limited according to the age and size of those using it.
- The inflatable and any accessories must not be moved under any circumstances.
- Do not allow anyone to bounce on the step or front apron. The step is only there to help users get on and off safely. If the inflatable has a slide, it must only be used for sliding down, not climbing up.
- Anyone with a history of back or neck problems must not use the inflatable. Pregnant persons must not use the inflatable.
- Users must not be on the inflatable during inflation or deflation.
- In heavy rain, it is strongly recommended that the inflatable is switched off. Light wetness or bubbling can be dried with a towel. During small showers, the unit can remain inflated and should be wiped down once the shower has passed.
- If an extension lead overheats or loses power, switch the blower off at the mains, wait a few minutes, and then switch it back on. The blower must remain upright with vents clear at all times. Do not plug other devices into our extension leads or overload your power supply.
Preparation & General Care
- Please ensure suitable parking and clear access for our van and equipment. If you live in a pay and display area, this must be mentioned at the time of booking. Extra costs may apply.
- The setup area must be clear of animal mess. Please do not cut the grass immediately before our arrival. Cleaning charges may apply if the inflatable is returned dirty.
- For safety reasons, please keep children away from our staff during setup and collection. Intoxicated adults must also be kept away from our team. We do not tolerate abuse of any kind, and incidents may be reported to the police. If staff feel threatened, they may leave the equipment in place and return later, with extra hire charges applied where necessary.
- The inflatable must be kept clean throughout the hire. Where Total Bounce considers an inflatable to be extremely dirty, a £40 cleaning fee may be charged. If this is refused, we reserve the right to recover cleaning costs and legal costs where applicable.
- If your hire includes balls, all balls must be re-bagged before we return to collect. Failure to bag the balls may result in the loss of all or part of your ball pit deposit.
- Please ensure the inflatable is inflated at the time of collection, or at least one hour before collection. Garden games, sponges, helmets, and all accessories must be placed together and ready for collection.
- All measurements and required setup spaces are shown on each product page. If the area has not been measured correctly and the hire cannot proceed, the full hire cost will still apply because the equipment has been reserved for your booking. If no items are set up, a £20 deduction may be made, with the remaining balance still payable immediately.
- Inflatables must be no more than 50 metres from the nearest suitable wall socket. After this distance, power may not be sufficient for the fans to start correctly. We can only run two fans from one power socket. Please ensure enough sockets are available and that the correct distance leads are booked. If no suitable power is available, petrol generators will be required. If you are using your own generator, full payment is required before delivery.
Times & Deliveries
- If you have hired a venue and need delivery or collection within strict times, you must contact us before booking to confirm whether we can meet those times. Existing secured bookings take priority. Failure to check venue times before booking may result in the loss of your booking fee if the times cannot be met.
- For domestic garden hires, we usually aim to complete deliveries by 10:30am, with collections starting from 6pm. During busy periods, we reserve the right to deliver a day early or collect a day later. Text messages are usually sent during the week before your hire with estimated delivery and collection times. Please help us with our logistics by working with these times wherever possible.
- We cannot be held responsible for inaccessible venues. If there are access issues, we may have to leave and return later, subject to route availability and additional costs.
- Event setups are completed by our installation team, not our administrative team. Certificates, risk assessments, insurance documents, safety documents, setup plans, and event arrangements must be organised before our arrival. A suitable point of contact must be available on-site so our team can complete the setup efficiently and move on to the next booking.
- Total Bounce will not set up on communal land without prior written permission from the landowner and written consent from Total Bounce before the booking.
- Total Bounce plans routes carefully around local traffic and logistics, but we cannot be held responsible for delays caused by traffic, roadworks, accidents, weather, natural disasters, or other circumstances outside our control.
Payments & Cancellations
- Payments must be cleared before setup. A booking fee is taken at the time of ordering, and the remaining balance must be paid before setup. This may be paid in cash on arrival or by bank transfer at least 3 days before the event. Our installation teams do not have access to our banking system and can only set up bookings marked as paid or cash on arrival. Failure to make payment may result in loss of hire, later delivery, or additional return charges.
- We kindly ask that cancellations are made with as much notice as possible. Booking fees are non-refundable. If you cancel while our team is on-site, full payment of the hire is required, minus £20, unless otherwise agreed in writing by Total Bounce.
- In extreme weather, or where predicted wind speeds or gusts exceed 24mph, we will cancel the booking for health and safety reasons. Booking fees will be refunded or transferred to a future booking. If cancellation occurs on-site, you may be liable for staff and fuel costs.
- In the event of snow, we reserve the right to cancel the booking for the safety of our staff, vehicles, and equipment. Snow days will be risk assessed based on our warehouse location and the delivery location, and we will communicate with you if snow is a concern.
- Once your hire has been loaded into the van, you are responsible for paying the full amount for all units ordered, even if you have not measured correctly or a safety issue prevents setup. Our staff still need to be paid, and mistakes outside our control cannot be covered by Total Bounce.
- For reasons beyond our control, Total Bounce reserves the right to substitute hired items with alternatives of a similar style and user type. If we cannot provide a suitable alternative, we will offer a full refund or suggest moving the booking to another date.
Please read our Frequently Asked Questions page for further information about the hire process.
Disclaimer
Provided that the equipment is used in accordance with the safety instructions and conditions of hire above, users should be able to use the inflatable safely. Total Bounce accepts no liability for injuries, loss, or damage unless caused by the proven negligence of Total Bounce or its employees.
The equipment will be in the hirerās possession and control during the hire period, except for manned hires. Any liability for injuries, damage, breakages, accidents, or losses caused while the equipment is under the hirerās control rests with the hirer.
It is strongly recommended that the hirer has adequate public liability insurance covering their liability arising from the use of the inflatable.
By accepting these terms and conditions, you accept full responsibility for the hire, including loss, damage, breakages, accidents, and liability relating to the items provided.
This does not apply to a manned hire where a member of Total Bounce staff remains on-site to operate the unit. In this case, the Total Bounce staff member is responsible for operating the inflatable, with your full support and cooperation.
