It depends on the castle, but as a rough guide most of our standard units need around four to five metres of clear, flat space on each side. We also need a bit of extra clearance around the edges for safety. If you're not sure your garden is big enough, just give us a call and we can talk it through. We'd rather help you find the right size than have anyone disappointed on the day.
Light rain usually isn't a problem as long as there's no lightning and conditions aren't unsafe. We always keep an eye on the forecast and we'll be in touch if we have any concerns. In the event of genuinely bad weather we'll work with you to find a solution, and we'll always be honest with you about what's safe and what isn't. Your event matters to us, so we don't just disappear if the weather turns tricky.
Yes, the blower that keeps the castle inflated runs on a standard 13-amp household socket. A power source within around 25 to 30 metres of where the castle is going to sit is usually fine. If that's going to be an issue at your venue, let us know in advance and we can look at alternatives. It's worth sorting this out before the day so there are no last-minute surprises.
Most of our castles are designed and rated for children up to a certain age and weight limit. We'll always be upfront about the specific limits for whichever unit you hire. Some of our larger inflatables can handle older teenagers and lighter adults, so if that's important for your event just ask when you book and we'll point you in the right direction.
Summer weekends fill up fast, particularly from May through to August when garden parties are in full swing across South Somerset. We'd suggest getting in touch at least four to six weeks ahead if you can, especially for Saturdays. That said, we do sometimes have availability at shorter notice, so it's always worth a call even if your event is coming up soon. We'll always tell you honestly what we have free.
Grass is ideal and what we work with most of the time at garden parties around Ilminster. We use ground anchors to secure everything safely on a lawn. We can also set up on hard surfaces like concrete or decking in some cases, but we use a different anchoring method and we'd want to chat about it beforehand. Slopes and uneven ground can be a problem, so if your garden isn't completely flat it's worth mentioning when you enquire.
